My name is Megan and I love to read! I enjoy blogging about books and sharing my thoughts with others and being a part of the book blogging community.
I'm 25 and married to an amazing guy who is my best friend. I currently live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I have moved quite a bit throughout my life and will continue to do so as long as my husband is in the Navy. Until I moved recently, I worked occasionally at a small used bookstore/coffee shop that funded my reading habits. I do not have kids, nor do I plan on having any.
I can't stick to just one genre. I love reading all sorts of things, thought lately I've been sticking to YA books for the variety of great books with unpredictable plots and complicated romance.
My favorite genres include dystopian and/or post apocalyptic novels, science fiction, horror, fantasy, paranormal romance, and contemporary romance.
I prefer YA or NA romances, but I'll still read adult romance occasionally. I'm starting to like more historical novels, but I'm picky about them. I'll read thrillers on occasion, too.
I tend to avoid popular "book club" books that everyone is talking about and will generally induce a cry fest, but if I hear some good things, I'll give any book a shot.
The only genre I generally will not read is Christian (both fiction and nonfiction).
I love YA books. In the past few years, the genre has grown and matured in ways I would have never imagined and I think it's awesome that books are out there that are both good in quality and appeal to younger people.
I love books involving zombies, vampires, werewolves, witches, and other awesome supernatural and paranormal creatures.
I love books with complicated world building and deep themes, which is probably why I love dystopias so much.
I don't have issues with people who don't like to read, as long as they respect the fact that I do.
What Kind of Reader Are You?
Your Result: Dedicated Reader
You are always trying to find the time to get back to your book. You are convinced that the world would be a much better place if only everyone read more.
I participate in a few online book clubs on Goodreads. I love Goodreads and keep track of all of my books there. I post all of my reviews on Goodreads. I enjoy being able to network with readers about reading and writing reviews is what inspired me to blog. If it wasn't for being able to share reviews and books on goodreads and ultimately to facebook, I don't know that I'd be here typing right now.
