I think I’m really going to love the Kate Daniels series. Magic Burns was even better than the first book. I feel like I understand the world and the characters a little bit more. It was full of action and mystery and suspense. I love the world of the Kate Daniels series. It’s strange, but the author did a wonderful job describing scenery and creatures. Everything seemed extremely vivid.
I love Kate’s character and how she views other people. I understand the way she felt about the Order and how she felt about the pack and where their loyalties were. It’s like she gets it, but doesn’t want to be a part of it. I love the judgment calls she makes and I think she’s got a great heart, despite her rigid exterior.
I’m intrigued by Curran, the Beast Lord. I think it’s a bit more obvious in the second book that he cares about her or is intrigued by her to some degree. And I think Kate actually feels the same way and just won’t admit it to herself. I hope they both end up going somewhere, but I’m anxious to see how they’d word anything out, especially since Curran’s priorities will always include the pack first.
I can’t wait to continue the series and I definitely recommend it. I wasn’t quite sure after book one, but book two has sealed the deal. It’s a good series and I know it’ll be worth my time to continue.
