Review:

I am so in love with this series. I devoured Endless Knight even faster than I did Poison Princess! It was full of adventure, danger, twists and turns, and romance. I can’t get enough!

This may be saying too much, but maybe not considering that the cover and the synopsis already say it, but there IS a love triangle. And when I first began Endless Knight, I was so not looking forward to anything where that asshole Death was involved. I was rooting for Jackson, despite him being just a normal guy. I felt like he saved her when she needed it most and was there for her.

I never switch teams or even fully get the other guy’s side during most love triangle YA stories. Except once, where I did a total 180 and rooted for the villain (Yeah, I’m talking about you, Shatter Me series. Team Warner!) So, when an author can make me forget how much I loved guy #1 and start swooning over evil guy #2, I’m impressed. And Kresley Cole totally made me think, Um, Jackson who? Who is this Death guy over here and why am I (and Evie) so drawn to him? And seriously, when did I start rooting for the bad guys and the blond guys? I don’t even like either of those things?! Actually, I can’t even remember why I liked Jackson in the first place. I have totally book 1 swoon amnesia and I literally read it two days ago. Actually, I’m pretty sure I was Team Jackson until like 50% of book 2, so what the heck?

Now that I’ve finished Endless Knight, I can’t stop thinking about it and I’m craving the next book and I think I still have like 10 months to wait and I’m dying. I have no idea how any of this will end, who Evie will end up with, and who, if anyone, will win the game. I have no idea who or if Evie and Death can even make it work, or if there’s any hope left for Jackson, or if everyone will just be eaten by cannibals.

I have a soft spot for Lark and Death, while seriously doubting the credibility of Matthew. I don’t understand who Evie will end up being, since she gets so crazy power hungry at times and she’s so.. normal other times. The entire world is falling apart around everyone and I can’t even figure out how any of the alliances will work. It’s so complicated, but I love the mystery. There were some seriously awesome and gruesome moments in Endless Knight, which I loved.

I can’t give TOO many details about the plot away, but I loved the book even more than I liked the first one. I can’t wait for book three to come out. I need more! I highly recommend the series, especially if you like a little bit of mystery, magic, and romance mixed with your horror and end of the worlds. You can’t go wrong with The Arcana Chronicles.

I don’t know if everyone will get on the whole Team Death train and I think maybe, if you are still Team Jackson, it might even make you angry and annoyed, but somehow the author convinced me that Death was worth rooting for.
