Q: What is the first thing you would do if you woke up to find yourself in your favorite book? via @GizmosReviews

I don’t have a favorite book, but a handful of favorites. Most of them are dystopias. The first thing I would do is freak out. And not in a happy OMG-I’m-in-my-favorite-world way. In a OMG-how-the-F-am-I-supposed-to-get-home-this-is-my-worst-nightmare kind of way. I love books, but the one thing I learned from the Inkheart series by Cornelia Funke is that it’s not all that awesome when the villains of your favorite story come to life.

A few people I know read to escape and when books are dark or horrifying or suffocating, they are not (as) into it. The mentality of those people is that life is horrible enough, they just want to read something nice. I think my read-for-escape plan is the complete opposite. I love my life and it’s really quite perfect, so I don’t mind and I enjoy reading the not-so-nice things literature has to offer. Which is precisely why the books I love the most would be the WRONG books to wake up inside of.

(The second thing I would do is hope that somehow, my husband will figure out where I am and find a way from the real world to get me home, while I try to find a way to get home otherwise. In this case, I hope I would end up in a magical world of some sort to make my trip home easier. I would be so heartbroken if I was away from my husband with no end in sight and no way to get home. It really would be my worst nightmare.)

What would you do?

Haha, I guess that's the first thing I would do to, thinking about it, after getting over the the fact that it's so cool that I'm in my favorite book. XD

I didn't think about the coming back part at all - I'm pretty sure I'd be able to come home to my husband and kids without problem...

I totally see what you mean, though, there are some books I would not want to be inside!

Thanks for stopping by my my FF post earlier.

Have a fabulous Friday!

I would freak out too!! But I think, even though I read to escape and read the nicer less dystopian style books that you do, I'd feel a little depressed because the leading boy, demon, vampire, shadow hunter, ghost is still interested in the leading girl not me. Lol And with my asthma and allergies and hypoglycemia there is no way I could keep up with any of them or fight as bad ass as they do or go without eating as long. Not to mention your thoughts on getting back out. I would need to get back out. I have a fiancé who'd be devastated if I was stuck in a book whether I loved the story or not unless he could join me. He likes my books too. Honestly, if I was in say, Twilight, I'd be terrified!! Their transformation is beyond painful and there isn't enough morphine in the world to keep me from screaming out. And who's to say that the Cullen's would take on another member of the family? The house is only so big...though Esme could build an add-on or another cottage on the property. My fiancé would definitely want to join me. But the V would scare me too... *sigh* I guess it wouldn't be as great as all that.

haha megan, nice answer! I would definitely freak out too but perhaps opposite of you, my initial reaction would be of the "how-the-F-did-I-get-here?!" haha.
I like reading the not so nice stuff as well. I love my life, but I also love melancholy..
