Booking Through Thursday–Resolved

btt2

hosted by Booking Through Thursday

This week’s question:

Any reading resolutions for the new year? Reading more? (Reading less?) Reading better books? Bigger books? More series? More relaxing books?

And hey, feel free to talk about any other resolutions you might have, too … or why you choose NOT to have any.

I don’t have any resolutions, but I do want to try not checking out as many books from the library and dedicating more time to read books I’ve purchased or downloaded. I usually put them on the back burner and focus on requests and library books and any book that comes with a deadline attached and I want to change that this year.

I usually don’t make any resolutions because I don’t wait for new years or new beginnings to change something I don’t like. If I waited for the new year to quit smoking, I wouldn’t be a nonsmoker right now with over 3 months of not smoking behind me. I quit smoking at night on a random Friday at the end of a month. I didn’t wait for a new day or a new week or a new month to do what I wanted to do. I think some reflection is always great and there is nothing wrong with making resolutions, it’s just not something I tend to do all the time.

Congrats on the smoking issue, so much healthier. I am trying to be more relaxed with my reading this year.

I'm going to try to blog more in general. Already I'm actually finishing books rather than skipping around. But really, my resolutions are to get a job (continue the hunt), spend more times with friends, got to ATL more (zoo, museums, restaurants) etc... Basically, have a life!! The job, of course, will be a huge help with this!! Lol of course saving money and changing my situation are key too. Preparing for Tommy joining me. And yes, like everyone else, I plan to work out again. Once I'm working I hope to join a Zumba class again. :) the books are the icing on the cake of my life. As long as I'm reading your blog ill know what's out there and whether or not I'll like it. I believe this is going to be an incredible year for reading!!!! :)

Sounds like a good way to look at it all, Megan....when we need to make changes, now is the time. But if New Year's comes and I want to reinforce things, then I might do a few resolutions like these on

A good answer, you could set goals whenever you want.

Great answer. I don't know why we think we need a Monday or a first to make changes. Congrats on the quitting smoking. That's an amazing accomplishment.

I don't really make New Year resolutions either. I rarely have any other deadlines for my reading than perhaps from the library with books borrowed from there. No real need for any resolutions to do with reading, but as I recently bought a Kindle that will probably affect my habits. my BTT post
