hosted by Should Be Reading
There are a lot of books being made into movies, these days (“Anna Karenina“; etc). So, this week’s musing — courtesy of http://abookandashortlatte.wordpress.com — asks…
Have you ever read a book after watching the movie/television version only to find that you don’t like the book as much as the adaptation?
Yes, but I can only recall one time. Children of Men is one of my favorite movies. I didn’t know it was based off of a book until I saw it in my local used bookstore. The Children of Men by P.D. James actually disappointed me, even though it was a good book. Here’s my review for the book. While the movie was fast paced and action packed, the book was slow and reflective, which isn’t what I expected. I still prefer the movie, hands down.
