Review: The Strangers Outside (Short Story)

The Strangers Outside (Short Story)

by Vanessa Morgan

Summary: Two sisters, Jennifer and Louise, return to their remote holiday cabin after a day at the seaside. But little do they know they’re being surrounded. Shortly after their arrival, the girls will come face to face with THE STRANGERS OUTSIDE. When the assailants make their intentions known, things take a shockingly terrible turn and an intense battle for survival will begin.

3 star

While this is a very short story and quick read, I enjoyed it a lot. It was descriptive and creepy, with scenes like, “But something was wrong. The small town was normally half-abandoned at this time of the year, but now there was no sign of life at all. Everything was still. No people, no lights, no sound. Nothing. The town had gone into complete silence and admitted only the soft sound of the sea.”

It reminded me of a typical horror movie with 2 young girls out in a remote cabin, but it was well done. And most of all, the ending was awesome and philosophical. I won’t spoil it, but it was clever and interesting.

Great read!
